Margrietschool adopts monument

The school adopts the monument since its unveiling on May 4, 2000. Mayor Geert van Rumund and Madelon Bino held a speech at the monument. Then Jaap Meijer explained the Old Jewish Cemetery.

The monument commemorates the 70 Jewish citizens from Wageningen area who were deported and killed by the Germans during the years 1940-1945. The Life Gate shows people stay connected to the community.

The monument is located approximately opposite the place where until May 1940 in Walstraat in Wageningen was the synagogue.
